CECA MAGÁN Abogados is hosting the annual meeting of the First Law International (FLI) Alliance, held in Madrid on May 26, 27, and 28. The firm is the only Spanish representative in the alliance and has been a member of the FLI Board since 2024. The organization of this event in Spain is a milestone that consolidates the firm's position as a leader in the international legal field, as reported by El Economista.
The meeting was attended by more than 70 representatives from more than 25 countries who, over three days, shared knowledge, experiences, and forecasts on the main emerging legal trends in the international arena for companies.
Among the attendees were leading executives such as Jaime Carey, senior director of the Carey Abogados law firm in Chile, currently also President of the IBA; Bryan Bletso, Chairman of the Board and partner at Irwin Mitchell in the United Kingdom; and Orlando Casares, CEO and founder of the FLI Alliance based in Brussels, Belgium.
The conferences covered topics including the digital transformation of the legal sector, the impact of AI on global legal practice, international compliance challenges, particularly in the areas of corruption and information privacy, and challenges related to cyberattacks. Legal counsels from major international companies also participated in the presentations, analyzing opportunities for international expansion.
In addition, this event welcomed new members to the FLI network representing Poland, Japan, Australia, Turkey, and Italy, thus reinforcing its value as one of the most active and connected legal communities in the global legal arena.
