Law firms' commitment to mental health

Law firms are increasingly committed to mental health. María López-Olivares, director of the People and Talent department, explains in Iberian Lawyers Magazine how the firm is raising awareness of this issue.

For our professional, “focusing on the well-being of lawyers responds to multiple pressures and challenges specific to the legal sector” and adds that “the firm's goal is to improve the quality of life of lawyers, prevent mental health problems and, ultimately, increase professional effectiveness while improving the work environment.”

Regarding awareness of mental health at the firm, she comments: “We are still in the implementation process, the initial phase of which is preliminary diagnosis and the establishment of an action plan. Like any change, it may encounter initial resistance, but we believe that awareness and training sessions are key to explaining the benefits of these measures, along with success stories.”
