2025 brings legal changes to the MICE and events sector. Our expert lawyers, Àlex Santacana (partner in the labor area) and Mª José Rovira (partner in the environment area), have contributed to Evento Plus magazine with their insights on the latest legal developments in their respective areas.
One of the main legal changes for events companies in terms of labor is the signing of the first state collective agreement, in which the “biggest change is that it covers the irregular distribution of working hours.” In addition, like other sectors, it will be affected by the reduction in working hours, if applied.
In environmental matters, companies in the MICE and events sector will have to comply with the new Law on the Prevention of Food Loss and Waste, which will require companies to “have a plan in place to prevent loss and waste.”
These new developments, and those affecting all companies regardless of sector, will have to be implemented throughout the year.
