Tesla and Twitter do not file accounts with the Spanish Commercial Registry

The Spanish subsidiaries of Tesla and Twitter (X) have not filed their accounts with the Commercial Registry, as required in Spain. The filing of annual accounts with the Commercial Registry is mandatory for all corporations, both public and private, and failure to do so may result in penalties.

Esther Pérez, director of the commercial department, explains this in her statements to La Vanguardia (for subscribers only): “When a company has an annual turnover of more than six million euros, failure to comply can result in a penalty of 300,000 euros for each year of delay.

In this case, the fact that companies such as Tesla and Twitter do not file their accounts is striking, as they are companies that, due to their volume, are exposed to these penalties.
